from your description i think the senegal type of social stuff would make me happy.. the freedom of interaction here makes me feel paralyzed (and so i isolate myself). maybe it's like the free market capitalism of social interaction. scary. by the way, i'm glad you understand being positive about "bad" stuff. fuck that shit. see ya.

That's neat that kids were you lived were raised without toys. My kids don't have a ton of toys. We don't buy them toys often, they get them mostly as gifts and they get a lot of books. I'm glad you put your comment down because we forget that kids make up their own fun.

Kelly!! I'm sorry I haven't emailed, but Emily just sent me the link to remind me to read it and I'm so glad that I did. Who is Reggie? I don't remember him. That is the craziest thing I can imagine.. and poor Jonathon. Congrats again on the wedding I hope it went well. You can update me later when you aren't so stressed. It's so strange being home and realizing that nothing has changed except that I was in some wierd country for a longtime. Am I in the real world yet?

I think you're amazing. I read your diary constantly yet rarely comment because...well I don't really know why. So even though I have no specific advice/comment on the marriage to Ponge I will say that I have absolutely no doubt you'll make the right decision. I will also say that your dad seems to be the LAST person you'd want to take advice from. And your mom rules. Anyhow, my entire point is to say I wish I could give you a hug because you're just so amazing and incredible and inspirational. Okay, enough gushing. =)
